Time 18:22 The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, summoned (document 34) and heard from the driver and team representative, have considered the following matter and determine

Session Practice 3 Fact Completed a practice start in the incorrect location. Infringement Breach of Article 12.2.1 i) of the International Sporting Code and non-compliance with Race Director's Event Note (item 10.1, document 22).

Decision Formal warning. Reason The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 43 (Franco Colapinto), the team representative and reviewed video and in-car video evidence. This was the driver's first Formula 1 event and he admitted that he was trying to familiarise himself with some steering wheel settings and stopped 5 metres past the end of the Pit Wall. In mitigation of penalty the Stewards took note of the driver's admission above, that the practice start was done only 5 metres past the specified location, and the fact that this was his first event, and decide to impose a formal warning. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.

Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
