Do I have to bring my own API key?
Only on the free tier. The browser calls your AI provider of choice (Google AI Studio, OpenRouter, Cerebras, or ChatGPT Codex) directly with your key — our server never sees it. On the Patron tier you can store encrypted keys server-side and the server proxies AI calls on your behalf.
Which AI providers are supported?
Google AI Studio (Gemini), OpenRouter (any model on their catalog), Cerebras, ChatGPT Codex via device-code auth, and experimental Grok via 𝕏 Premium+/SuperGrok. Free-tier users can use any of these with their own key or subscription; Patron users can store and rotate keys through the server proxy. Visit /api-keys for step-by-step setup, or open Settings → AI Provider from chat.
Can I cancel my GitHub Sponsorship any time?
Yes — cancel on GitHub any time. Patron features turn off on the next status refresh (cache TTL is 5 minutes; manual refresh is available in Account Controls). Your data is preserved so you can resume later.
Where is my data stored?
Free tier: entirely in your browser (IndexedDB via Dexie). Once you clear site data or switch browsers, it is gone. Patron tier: PostgreSQL on a Hetzner VPS in Germany. Encrypted at rest, scoped per user, GDPR-compliant.
Will you share my queries or data?
Never with third parties for marketing. AI providers see your question and SQL result to generate an answer; that is the same on both tiers. PostHog (EU region) records anonymized error events with no IP geolocation and no session recording.
Is the $4.99 dollar amount a hard cap?
$4.99/mo is the price of the Patron tier on GitHub Sponsors. You can sponsor at a higher amount — anything above the threshold still unlocks the same set of Patron features.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are handled by GitHub Sponsors per their policy. We auto-detect Patron status from the GitHub GraphQL API on each login.
What happens to my data if I downgrade?
Server-side data is retained so you keep your cloud conversations for the next time you become a Patron. On the free tier, cloud features become read-only and new saves are local-only.
