Time 18:42 The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, summoned (document 33) and heard from the driver and team representative, have considered the following matter and determine

Session Practice 3 Fact The driver of Car 11 did not follow the Race Director's Event Notes regarding the escape road instructions at Turns 4/5. Infringement Alleged breach of Article 12.2.1 i) of the FIA International Sporting Code. Decision No further action.

Reason The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 11 (Sergio Perez), the team representative and reviewed video, telemetry and in-car video evidence. The driver of Car 11 stated that he lost control of the car at Turn 4/5 and felt that it would have been unsafe and difficult to go around the newly-installed green bollard. He stated that he re-joined the track safely.  The Stewards agreed that this was the case. The driver and team representative expressed their strong belief that the new green bollard should be removed and that the normal methods used to determine if a lasting advantage has been gained, be applied during the race. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.

Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
