Audi Revolut F1 Team Document 36 Date 24 October 2026 Time 15:34
The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, summoned (document 29) and heard from the team representative, have considered the following matter and determine the following:
No / Driver 27 - Nico Hulkenberg Competitor Audi Revolut F1 Team Time 12:41 Session Free Practice 3 Fact Whilst performing a Practice Start, Car 27 pulled out in front of Car 18. Infringement Alleged breach of Article 12.2.1.h of the FIA International Sporting Code. Decision No further action. Reason The Stewards heard from the team representative of Car 27 and reviewed video, team radio and in-car video evidence. The team representative explained that the driver's rear vision was obscured by the car behind at the Practice Start location, and that the driver had no idea of the approach of Car 18. He further explained that the start procedure can take between 5 and 15 seconds so at the time the driver took the decision to commence that procedure, the proximity of Car 18 would not have been obvious to him. The situation was compounded by the fact that the pit lane exit road (as marked) requires cars performing practice starts to merge with cars travelling down the fast lane directly to the pit exit, over a very short distance. The Stewards noted that although the driver of Car 18 had to brake, the situation was determined not to be dangerous and was easily managed by both drivers. Accordingly a decision of No Further Action is taken.
Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
