Time 18:21 The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, summoned (documents 39 & 40) and heard from the drivers and team representatives, have considered the following matter and determine the following:

Session Qualifying Fact Car 55 impeded Car 77 at Turns 6 and 7. Infringement Breach of Article B4.1.1 of the FIA F1 Regulations. Decision Drop of 3 grid positions for the next Race in which the driver participates.

Reason The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 55 (Carlos Sainz), the driver of Car 77 (Valtteri Bottas), team representatives and reviewed video, timing, team radio and incar video evidence. The team failed to inform the driver of Car 55 about Car 77 closing in on a flying lap and the driver did not take any action to make way for the incoming car. The Stewards determine that Car 55 unnecessarily impeded Car 77. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.

Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
