Time 18:45 The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, summoned (document 21) and heard from the driver and team representative, have considered the following matter and determine

Session Free Practice 2 Fact Car 18 impeded Car 1 prior to turn 1. Infringement Breach of Article B4.1.1 of the FIA F1 Regulations. Decision Competitor: Warning. Driver: Warning.

Reason The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 18 (Lance Stroll), team representative and reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video, timing, telemetry, team radio and in-car video evidence. The team representative advised that its analysis of Car 1 indicated that it was on a cool down lap. This transpired to be only partially correct as the driver of Car 1 kept a competitive pace into turn 1. Car 18 unnecessarily impeded Car 1 and accordingly this is a breach of the regulations. Due to the potentially dangerous situation because of the high speed delta, a formal warning is imposed on both the team and the driver.

Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.

Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
