The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, have considered the following matter and determine the following:
No / Driver 87 - Oliver Bearman Competitor TGR Haas F1 Team Time 16:01
Session Race
Fact The driver ignored Blue Flags being displayed for Car 6's approach. Infringement Breach of Appendix H, Article 2.5.5 e) of the International Sporting Code. Decision 5 second time penalty. Reason The Stewards reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video and in-car video evidence from Car 87. Blue flags were displayed to Car 87 (Oliver Bearman) due to the approach of Car 6 (Isack Hadjar) between turns 7 and 1 on the following lap. Car 87 passed 11 blue flag light panels before letting Car 6 past. The driver of Car 87 was required to allow Car 6 to pass at the earliest opportunity. In the Stewards' assessment, that opportunity arose at the latest between turns 11 and 12 but Car 87 did not allow Car 6 to pass until the entry to turn 1 on the following lap.The Stewards therefore imposed a 5 second time penalty on Car 87.
Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
