The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, have considered the following matter and determine the following:

No / Driver 31 - Esteban Ocon Competitor TGR Haas F1 Team Time 13:49 Session Free Practice 1 Fact Car 31 left the pit lane when the light at the end of the pit lane was red. Infringement Breach of Article B1.6.3e of the FIA F1 Regulations. Decision No penalty is applied. Reason The Stewards reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video, timing, telemetry and in-car video evidence. The timing data shows the car crossed the line 1.11 seconds after the end of the session.

However video evidence shows it is almost certain that the driver could not have seen the light change from green to red due to his close proximity to the line at the pit exit. Therefore although a breach of regulation was commited, in view of the mitigating circumstances of the driver being unable to see the red light, no penalty is applied. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.

Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
