Fact Contact occurred between Car 10 and Car 31 at Turn 3. Infringement Alleged breach of Appendix L, Chapter IV Art 2(d) of the FIA International Sporting Code. Decision No further action Reason The Stewards reviewed video and in-car evidence. Car 10 (GAS) moved to overtake Car 31 (OCO) on the inside at Turn 3. A minor collision occurred between the two cars just after the apex. The evidence showed that the front axle of GAS's car was ahead of the mirror of OCO's car prior to and at the apex and Car 10 was driven in a fully controlled manner. Applying the Driving Standards Guidelines, GAS was entitled to racing room through Turn 3. However, OCO had already turned-in and was committed to the corner at the point where the collision occurred. The Stewards determined that no driver was wholly or predominantly to blame for the collision and for that reason took no further action.
Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
