Time 13:35 The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, summoned (documents 28 & 29) and heard from the drivers and team representatives, have considered the following matter and determine the following:

Session Sprint Fact Car 18 collided with Car 31 in Turn 1 Infringement Breach of Appendix L, Chapter IV, Article 2 d) of the FIA International Sporting Code.

Decision Drop of 5 grid positions for the next Race in which the driver participates. 2 penalty points (total of 7 for the 12 month period). Reason The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 18 (Lance Stroll), the driver of Car 31 (Esteban Ocon), team representatives and reviewed video and in-car video evidence. Car 18 attempted an inside overtake on Car 31 into Turn 1 but misjudged the braking point and collided with Car 31. The Stewards determine that the driver of Car 18 is wholly at fault and apply a penalty accordingly. As the driver to be penalized did not finish the race a grid penalty equalling a 10 seconds time penalty is imposed. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.

Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
