The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, have considered the following matter and determine the following:

No / Driver 23 - Alexander Albon Competitor Atlassian Williams Racing Time 19:24 Session Reconnaissance Laps Fact Use of pit exit lane during reconnaissance lap Infringement Breach of Article 12.2.1 i) of the International Sporting Code and non-compliance with Race Director's Event Note (item 13.2, document 13) – pit lane exit. Decision Reprimand (driving) to the driver Reason The Stewards reviewed video and in-car video evidence. During the reconnaissance laps prior to the grid procedure, several cars were waiting in the pit exit road to perform practice starts. Car 23 (ALB) approached from behind, passed the waiting cars on the right-hand side, and re-joined to the left of the white line separating the pit exit road from the track after completing the overtaking manoeuvre. The driver then proceeded through the pit exit road and continued along it until re-joining the track. This action was not in accordance with the instructions issued by the Race Director. Under point 13.2 of the Race Director's Event Notes, it is specified that during reconnaissance laps, cars NOT wishing to perform a practice start should leave the pit lane and MUST cross the white lines separating the Pit Exit Road from the track at the earliest opportunity and join the "normal" racing line on the track. Reconnaissance laps are treated as laps within a practice session (as opposed to the Race). No other cars were affected, nor was this done in a dangerous manner. The Stewards note that similar incidents in the past have resulted in a warning. Considering, however, that the driver has previously been penalised for a comparable infringement during the current season (see Doc. 74 from the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix), the Stewards have decided to impose a more severe penalty this time and issue a reprimand (driving) on this occasion. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.

Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
