05 - 07 September 2025

From The Stewards

To The Team Manager,

BWT Alpine Formula 1 Team Document 35 Date 07 September 2025 Time 13:18

The Stewards, having received a report from the Technical Delegate (document 33), have considered the following matter and determine the following:

No / Driver 10 - Pierre Gasly Competitor BWT Alpine Formula 1 Team Time 11:40 Session Qualifying Fact The team did not cover Car 10 two hours after the chequered flag of the qualifying session and the following Power Unit elements have been used: 5th Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) 5th Turbo Charger (TC) 5th Motor Generator Unit - Heat (MGU-H) 5th Motor Generator Unit - Kinetic (MGU-K) 7th Engine Exhaust System (EX) All Power Unit elements were replaced without the approval of the FIA Technical Delegate during Parc Ferme. Infringement Breaches of Articles 28.2, 40.3, 40.6 and 40.9 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations. Decision Required to start the Race from the pit lane. Reason The penalty is imposed in accordance with Article 28.3. The 7th Engine Exhaust System (EX) used is one of the eight (8) exhaust systems allowed for the 2025 Championship season and therefore is in conformity with Article 28.2 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations. The use of the other additional elements carries a 10 place grid penalty for each element used in this case. Therefore there is an accumulation of 40 grid places. Article 42.3 d) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations provides that a driver which has accrued more than 15 cumulative grid position penalties must start from the back of the grid. However, as the Power Unit elements were replaced without the approval of the FIA Technical Delegate (this being a breach of Article 40.3) and as the team did not cover the car two hours after the chequered flag of qualifying (this being a breach of 40.6), a pit lane start is warranted in accordance with Article 40.9 a) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations.

The Stewards Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.

Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
