Time 19:44 The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, summoned (document 40) and heard from the driver and team representative, have considered the following matter and determine

the following:

Session Qualifying Fact Unsafe release of Car 44. Infringement Breach of Article 34.14 a) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations.

Decision The competitor (Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team) is fined €5,000. Reason The Stewards heard from the team representative and reviewed video evidence. Car 44 was released from the garage in an unsafe manner dragging a jack and an exhaust extractor behind it. The Stewards acknowledge that the team immediately informed the driver to stop to prevent any further damage and/or dangerous situation. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.

Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
