The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, summoned (documents 54 & 55) and heard from the drivers and team representatives, have considered the following matter and determine the following:

Session Race
Fact Car 77 collided with Car 18 between turns 13 and 14. Infringement Breach of Appendix L, Chapter IV, Article 2 d) of the FIA International Sporting Code. Decision 5 second time penalty imposed after the race. 2 penalty points (total of 2 for the 12 month period). Reason The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 18 (Lance Stroll), the driver of Car 77 (Valtteri Bottas), team representatives and reviewed video and in-car video evidence. Car 18 made a passing manoeuvre on Car 77 into Turn 13, successfully and in accordance with the driving standard guidelines. On the exit of the turn, Car 77 ran wide and as it attempted to return to the racing line, collided with Car 18 which was ahead of Car 77. The Stewards determine that the driver of Car 77 was predominantly to blame for the collision. The standard penalty, consistent with other similar incidents in 2023, is applied. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
