Fact Car 22 collided with Car 81 in Turn 1 Infringement Alleged breach of Appendix L, Chapter IV, Article 2 d) of the FIA International Sporting Code. Decision No further action. Reason The Stewards reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video, timing, telemetry, team radio and in-car video evidence. Both cars had been fighting for position for a number of laps with very close racing. Car 81 was in front down the straight leading into Turn 1. Car 22 came down the outside and was in a position to overtake. Car 81 was in the middle of the track, as Car 22 turned into the corner. Car 81 also turned into the corner at the same time. Car 81 tried to brake as late as possible as did Car 22. The cars collided prior to the apex. Unfortunately Car 22 spun off the track. The Stewards determine that no driver was wholly or predominantly to blame. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
