Session Sprint Qualifying Fact Car 11 left the track in turn 2 and was alleged to have gained a lasting advantage. Offence Alleged breach of Article 27.3 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations. Decision No further action
Reason The stewards reviewed video and radio evidence. Car 11 was attempting to overtake Car 18 at Turn 1 / 2. He cut behind the kerb and rejoined the track in front of Car 18 gaining an advantage.
In accordance with Art. 27.3 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations, the Race Director gave the opportunity to give back the whole of the advantage he gained. The Stewards observed that the team then gave this instruction to the driver (Perez) who complied with this within a reasonable time, giving the position back to Car 18. The Stewards were satisfied that he gave back the whole of any advantage he gained. The Stewards therefore take no further action.
Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 4 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
