Session Qualifying Fact Incident between cars 31, 7 and 6 between turns 10 and 11. Offence Alleged Breach of Articles 27.4 and 31.5 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations. Decision No further action.
Reason The Stewards heard from the drivers and team representatives of Car 31 (Esteban Ocon) and Car 7 (Kimi Raikkonen). Having reviewed multiple angles of video evidence, telemetry and GPS data, the stewards concluded that what appeared to be erratic movement of cars was due to a combination of circumstances which they, and the two drivers present, agreed was probably unavoidable and was not dangerous. Car 44 was leading a line of cars on an out lap – in order, cars 6, 31 and 7, plus others. On the approach to Turn 11, car 6 slowed (ref telemetry) in order to achieve a reasonable gap to car 44 in front. This caused car 31 to have to take avoiding action by moving to the left, which caused car 7 to have to brake and move. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Article 10.1.1 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time
