Session Race Fact Left the track and Re-joined the track in an unsafe manner at turn 15 Offence Breach of Appendix L, Chapter IV Article 2 of the FIA International Sporting Code and or Article 27.3 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations

Decision 5 Second time penalty (2 penalty points imposed, total of 3 points in the 12 month period) Reason The Stewards reviewed video evidence. From track CCTV, broadcast and in-car cameras, as well as data from the loop at Turn 15 that indicated that Magnussen left the track. Latifi was making a pass on the inside of Magnussen at Turn 15. The Stewards determined that at the exit of the corner, Magnussen left the track unnecessarily and then re-joined the track aggressively, striking Latifi's car. Compounding this the Stewards felt that by leaving the track Magnussen was able to maintain his position. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Article 10.1.1 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time
