Date 26 May 2019 Time 20:22 2019 MONACO GRAND PRIX 22 - 26 May 2019 The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, summoned (documents 43 and 44) heard from the drivers and team representatives, have considered the following matter and determine the following:

No / Driver 20 - Kevin Magnussen Competitor Rich Energy Haas F1 Team Time 16:12

Session Race

Fact Car 20 left the track at turn 10 gaining an advantage. Offence Breach of Article 27.3 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations. Decision A time penalty of 5 seconds is imposed after the race (5 seconds added to elapsed race time). 1 penalty point imposed (total of 1 in the 12 month period). Reason The Stewards reviewed video evidence, heard from the driver of car 20 (Kevin Magnussen), the driver of car 11 (Sergio Perez) and the team representatives. Car 11 moved to the left of car 20 in the braking zone of turn 10 and pulled fully alongside. The two cars then took the first apex side by side and moved towards the second apex side by side. The driver of car 20 then cut behind the kerb at the next apex avoiding a collision with car 11 which would have resulted had he gone over the kerb. However, rather than re-joining the track as soon as possible, the driver of car 20 opened his steering and also missed the next apex creating a further shortcut allowing him to re-join the track ahead of car 20 rather than side by side, which would have been the case had he gone behind the raised kerb and re-joined as soon as possible, which there was room to do. Therefore, the Stewards impose a 5 second penalty on car 20. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Article 9.1.1 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
