Session Practice 2 Fact Car 20 went to the right of the bollard at turn 14 contrary to the Race Directors Note no 9.1 (document 2). Offence Breach of Article 12.1.1.i of the FIA International Sporting Code.

Decision No Further Action. Reason The Stewards reviewed video evidence, heard from the driver of car 20 (Kevin Magnussen) and the team representative. The Driver of Car 20 has not followed the Race Director's Note no 9.1, which requires the Cars overshooting the chicane in Turn 14 to drive around the bollard prior to rejoining the Track. However, in trying to do that, given the circumstances of the incident, it would have been difficult to achieve. The Stewards acknowledge that the Driver of Car 20 slowed sufficiently and re-joined the Track in a safe manner. Furthermore, given the offence was committed during Free Practice 2, no sporting advantage was gained. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Article 9.1.1 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
