2018 BRITISH GRAND PRIX 5 - 8 July 2018

Technical Delegate's Report

The following driver will use a new internal combustion engine (ICE) for the remainder of the Event:

NumberCar Driver Previously used ICE

28 Toro Rosso Honda Brendon Hartley 5

The internal combustion engine used by Brendon Hartley is the sixth new internal combustion engine for the 2018 Championship season and this is not in conformity with Article 23.3a of the 2018 Formula One Sporting Regulations.

The following driver will use a new motor generator unit-kinetic (MGU-K) for the remainder of the Event:

28 Toro Rosso Honda Brendon Hartley 4

The motor generator unit-kinetic used by Brendon Hartley is the fifth new motor generator unit-kinetic for the 2018 Championship season and this is not in conformity with Article 23.3a of the 2018 Formula One Sporting Regulations.

The Red Bull Toro Rosso Honda team informed the technical delegate about the PU elements' change on 07 July 2018, at 16:51 hours.

The following parts have been replaced during the Parc Fermé yesterday and today by the Williams Martini Racing team for parts with a different specification:

Williams Mercedes:

Car 18: Rear wing Engine cover wing LHS cooling panel

Car 35: Rear wing Engine cover wing LHS cooling panel Front wing/nose assembly

The parts have been replaced with the approval of the FIA technical delegate following a written request from the team concerned, this being in accordance with Article 34.2 of the 2018 Formula One Sporting Regulations. But as the above parts are different from the ones originally used, car numbers 18 and 35 should now be required to start from the pit lane according to Article 34.6 of the 2018 Formula One Sporting Regulations.

The Williams Martini Racing team informed the technical delegate about the aerodynamic specification change on 07 July 2018, at 21:19 hours.
