The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, summoned (document 35) and heard from the driver and team representative, have considered the following matter and determine the following:

No / Driver 23 - Alexander Albon Competitor Atlassian Williams F1 Team Time 13:02 Session Free Practice 3 Fact The driver of Car 23 failed to slow for double Yellow Flags. Infringement Breach of Article B1.8.4b of the FIA F1 Regulations. Decision Driver: Reprimand (Driving). This is the driver's 2nd reprimand of the season. Reason The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 23 (Alexander Albon), team representative and reviewed positioning/marshalling system data, video, timing, telemetry and in-car video evidence.

The driver was not shown the yellow flag nor were yellow lights displayed to him however a green light panel denoting the end of a yellow flag zone was visible to him, albeit for a very short time (less than 2 seconds).

The Stewards accept as mitigation, the fact that the driver was looking at the apex and had a very short amount of time to react to the green light however technically this is a breach of the regulations.  The penalty guidelines for a breach during Free Practice is a drop of 10 grid positions however the mitigating circumstances dictate that a lower penalty be applied in this case.

Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Chapter 5 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.

Decisions of the Stewards are taken independently of the FIA and are based solely on the relevant regulations, guidelines and evidence presented.
