Session Race Fact Overtaking car 20 during a safety car period. Offence Breach of Article 39.8 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations.

Decision 5 second time penalty 1 penalty points imposed (total of 1 in the 12 month period) Reason The Stewards reviewed video evidence from multiple angles including on-board cameras, broadcast, CCTV cameras as well as timing data. Car 27 overtook Car 20 before the line during the restart. This is a breach of the regulation. Car 20 re-overtook car 27 in turns 1& 2. However, the Stewards determined that this was a regular pass and that Car 27 did not give way in a deliberate manner and decided this was not a mitigating factor. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with Article 15 of the FIA International Sporting Code and Article 9.1.1 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Rules, within the applicable time limits.
